To start off 2019, we are speaking to one of our Systems Engineers, Sebastien! He talks to us about what he gets up to at ONGC Systems, what he couldn’t live without, and what his favourite thing to do is. Keep reading to find out more.
What do you do?
Make the lives of our customers and the ONGC team easy, by delivering the best service as I can and bring some good vibes with the smile.
What’s life like at ONGC Systems?
There’s a new challenge every day, but that’s the most exciting part of our job, we can’t get bored. Every day is a new adventure at ONGC.
What’s the best thing about working for ONGC Systems?
There’s a really good spirit amongst the team, even though the work we do can be stressful at times. We are always up for a good laugh, internally and with our customers. It’s a very friendly atmosphere at ONGC.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Helping people by taking care of their IT.
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t in your current role?
I would be a chef and/or farmer probably, so I can provide the best quality food possible to keep people healthy.
How do you define success?
Bring positive vibes to other people, customers and colleagues. If you give out good vibes, you will gain some in return. Just a smile from a customer or colleague is success to me.
Who do you look up to?
My intuition, – I trust my instincts most of the time.
What’s the one thing you couldn’t live without?
My connection with nature and the ocean. Australia is specifically awesome for that! That’s why I moved here.
What is your biggest fear?
To get injured or die in a car accident.
What is your favourite thing to do?
Tell us something that might surprise us about yourself?
I would love to plant or help repair forests.
What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever had to do?
Leave my family and friends in France for the last 14 years.
If you could tell your 13-year-old self something now, what would it be?
Don’t try to fly like Superman when you jump on a trampoline – keep your neck safe! I am still paying the full price now!! That accident changed my life deeply.
Thanks to Sebastien for being a good sport and answering all of our questions. Next month we’ll have a new spotlight guest to quiz!
