This month we asked our official car enthusiast and one of the Systems Engineers, Jacob, some questions all about life both at ONGC Systems and outside of it.
A full-time car enthusiast, with a side of Systems Engineer to spice things up.
What do you do?
Take on every opportunity to further my career and skills, and give my car the life it deserves.
What’s life like at ONGC Systems?
Good people, good environment, good future, good times.
What’s the best thing about working for ONGC Systems?
Being given room to grow and taking on out-of-the-box challenges.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Pushing the envelope and finding better and better ways to do anything and everything.
What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t in your current role?
Move to Japan and drift cars at Ebisu Circuit.
How do you define success?
“If you find a job you like, you’ll never work a day in your life”. Being comfortable and happy, without compromising any aspects of your life.
Who do you look up to?
My mother and father, hindsight has shown how much they’ve done for me.
What’s the one thing you couldn’t live without?
My daughter Eden.
What is your biggest fear?
What is your favourite thing to do?
Any and all activities involving cars. Can’t beat a mountain drive at night with the windows down.
Tell us something that might surprise us about yourself?
I was at a state level spelling bee and once spelt the word “Wombat” wrong. For some reason on that day, I spelt it “Wobat”.
What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever had to do?
Saying goodbye to close friends when either I moved states or they did. Never gets easier, but sometimes life gets in the way.
If you could tell your 13-year-old self something now, what would it be?
Buy the fast car. Spend the money to make it faster, you’ll grow old eventually.
That’s a Wrap!
We’d like to thank Jacob for taking the time to answer our Spotlight questions. Next month we’ll have a new spotlight guest to quiz.
